Good evening all. Unfortunately, today's alert was a dud. The good thing about it was it was an obvious dud, even a rookie could have determined this was a loser almost immediately...and either avoid trading it, or minimize the loss if you'd already bought it.
Volume was huge, nearly $1.6 million...by far its biggest ever.
But it literally went down the very first minute the market opened, and never generated even a whiff of positive momentum. My #1 warning I annoyingly repeat over and over again is to make sure you see positive momentum. So I very much hope you traded with caution and dodged this bullet. The silver lining on today's play was there was no "Fake Out." Large shareholders, shorters, or market makers often cause a "fake out" where they let/cause the stock to start very strong for 1-5 minutes before they crush it. That way they trap the eager traders who see a strong open, and creating more buying. Today's alert was stamped with a giant flashing neon red "LOSER" sign right on its forehead from the moment the market opened. I may be psycho after all, because I view this as a very good thing. An obvious loser is easy to deal with. A strong yet brief rally, followed by a decline, is more confusing and therefore more challenging.
As most all of you know, I don't like doing alerts in the evenings. Here is my personal opinion based on all my years of running this newsletter. The overall performance and percentage gain potential of alerts released at 9:30am EST is superior to alerts that are released when the market is closed.
For example, today's play gapped up big-time and then traded downward all day long. An all too common pattern I observe from myself and all other newsletters who put out alerts when the market is closed.
Despite this, I know a substantial majority of you guys prefer alerts to come out at night. I believe in community spirit. Since this newsletter doesn't cost money, what's the point of it if not to give the readers what they want?
So I will continue to do both. I'll put out some alerts at or near the opening bell. I'll put some out in the evening. That way you can have both, and you can make your own decisions about which ones are right for you.
Moving on to more positive news...
My medium-term marijuana plays are absolutely EXPLODING!!!
I'm thrilled about this. Is there anything weed can't do??
Besides relieving glaucoma, inspiring Snoop Dogg, and making my newsletter less annoying...weed may turn out to be the surprising cure to a horrible disease. A shrinking brokerage account balance.
Baack on 8/12/13, I picked 4 marijuana-related tickers for you to put on your watchlist for the short and medium term. I virtually never talk about anything being suitable to watch for anything beyond day-trading or the short (very short) term. I'm happy to say, especially after today's disappointment, that I knocked it out of the park and that TODAY in particular was super profitable for my #1 pick out of my 4 marijuana tickers to watch!
My #1 favorite I said in my August 12th alert was HEMP.
I alerted HEMP at .016 on 8/12/13. Today HEMP was the most heavily traded stock in the entire OTC market and closed up 55% after being up as much as 71%, trading a mind blowing $78 million in dollar volume, its largest ever. Nearly 25,000 executed trades, that's the biggest number I've ever seen in my life!!
(2nd most active above is my other pick, PHOT. All 4 of my marijuana picks are today's most active. MJNA was down 6%, PHOT up 13% and CBIS up 17%. 3 out of 4 winners!)
HEMP closed at .261 , after hitting a high of .288. HEMP has now gained a F'ing amazing 1,700% over the alert price!
Because of the ultra-thin trading, many of my alerts have made gains of 1,700% or even far more, usually within 1 day or 1 week at the very most. This is due to the wacky way the penny markets work. It's hard for a ticker to go up that much over 1-5 days, but due to frenzied excitement, shorts covering, market maker manipulation, etc etc...we've been lucky enough to have those quite frequently.
But to have an OTC ticker, and a freakin' pink sheet one at that, rally for 1,700% over a period of 5 months, AND on consistent multi-million dollar volume...is simply unheard of. The closest thing to it were caused by a group of stock promoters called "Awesome" who would do it all through hyping up traders via email. HEMP was done (as far as I know) WITHOUT hype marketing. It was...organic.
This is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen on the OTC market.
I am so happy I was able to get the ticker to you EXTREMELY early, along with ideas on how to play it that turned out to work perfectly.
Take a look at this earth shattering chart:
Here is a quote from my August 12th 2013 alert:
***
"HEMP has been not as impressive the past 2 days, but has awesome upside. HEMP has to almost make a 1,000% gain until it hits the resistance from the last rally’s high! That makes HEMP my favorite."
***
Less than 2 weeks ago I bragged about HEMP's amazing success with its gain of 434%. That gain has turned into 1,700% in the blink of an eye! And THAT, guuuuyyyss, is why out of the 4, I picked HEMP as my favorite.
PHOT was today's #2 most traded, and has been on fire the ENTIRE 2 weeks since my update on it, roughly DOUBLING since then. PHOT also hit quadruple digits, gaining over 1,000% over my alert price of .041.
Congratulations on these truly spectacular gains. My eyes are open and I'm on the hunt for more profitable situations. Stay tuned.
