Valmie Resources’ (VMRI) AeroLift eXpress in Dialog with Major Oil Company Contractor
Valmie Resources Inc. (VMRI) announced its joint venture partner, AeroLift eXpress, is in dialog with a major Latin American energy company’s prime contractor regarding daily, unmanned offshore transport. The contractor represents large providers throughout Latin America and desires to add AeroLift to its portfolio.
AeroLift eXpress is an elite unmanned aerial transport service that uses military grade vehicles and systems, operated by former U.S. military pilots. Since its debut at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston, several companies have demonstrated interest in collaborating with AeroLift to support offshore deliveries and to provide other unmanned aerial services.
According to worldwide management consulting firm McKinsey & Company, returns on capital in the oil and gas sector have halved since 2007, triggering a stronger need for curbing costs than ever before.
“We are pleased to offer this one-of-a kind delivery service to offshore operators as a way of reducing costs and lowering the risks associated with transporting payloads in challenging environments,” said Gerald B. Hammack, President and CEO of Valmie Resources.
“AeroLift’s economical transport platform is a practical alternative over high priced helicopter or marine delivery,” said James Stafford, AeroLift eXpress CEO and Founder. “Our drone technology can successfully operate in any conditions where a helicopter can fly, at a fraction of the cost and no risk to human life.”
AeroLift eXpress has the capability to deliver a sizeable payload of up to 14 pounds within an operating radius of 250 miles, with plans to increase the payload size to as much as 80 pounds in subsequent development phases.

THE DRONES REPORT: Market forecasts, regulatory barriers, top vendors, and leading commercial applications
|
|
|
The fast-growing global drone industry has not sat back waiting for government policy to be hammered out before pouring investment and effort into opening up this all-new hardware and computing market.
A growing ecosystem of drone software and hardware vendors is already catering to a long list of clients in agriculture, land management, energy, and construction. Many of the vendors are smallish private companies and startups — although large defense-focused companies and industrial conglomerates are beginning to invest in drone technology, too.
In a report from BI Intelligence, we take a deep dive into the various levels of the growing global industry for commercial drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This 32-page report provides forecasts for the business opportunity in commercial drone technology, looks at advances and persistent barriers, highlights the top business-to-business markets in terms of applications and end users, and provides an exclusive list of dozens of notable companies already active in the space.
Finally, it digs into the current state of US regulation of commercial drones, recently upended by the issuing of the Federal Aviation Administration's draft rules for commercial drone flights. Few people know that many companies are already authorized to fly small drones commercially under a US government "exemption" program.
