Happy Friday, Trader!
Today might get a little volatile with the job numbers and the “Fed taper” so there’s no better time to get Abby Inc. (ABBY) in front of you.
Based on the insane up-and-down action ABBY has been turning in lately, this chart is going to fit right in:
How crazy is ABBY? Those big candlesticks we saw a week ago represent 37% to 47% morning glory and the dip-and-recover action tops 75%.
Put that in perspective and even the “little” days have contained enough intraday juice to give traders a flourish to end a productive week.
Hit a BIG day, of course, and I can only imagine the grin on your face!
But while the surges have been fun, the dips have been brutal. If you want to ride ABBY, pick your entry with care and make sure to set your stops.
Yesterday pushed ABBY near the bottom of its recent trading range. If we get a bounce today, you can probably figure out the entry for yourself.
As for exits, keep them in sight at all times and don’t get TOO greedy! At the rate ABBY has been jolting around, you can play again next week!
So why is this chart so hyperactive? Part of the answer is trader confusion. The ticker used to belong to an oil company but now ABBY hosts parties. (Read more)
Oil or high-energy corporate “events” staffed by go-go girls? Based on the ABBY price action, there’s a real tug-of-war going on here!
The business plan looks like it’s filling up the calendar. Something called “Trucks N Tatas” is bringing girls, beer and charity next summer.
Then ABBY is developing a cross between the New York Marathon and an obstacle course -- bigger crowds and a $250 million market! (Read more)
Given ABBY’s gyrations, I doubt many traders think this is the perfect stock to hold forever, so these long-term plans are more hypothetical than fact.
By the time the “Trucks N Tatas” show starts winding through America next year, the chart may calm down.
In the here and now, ABBY is most interesting as a spunky ticker to ride on what would otherwise be a dull Friday, a pure technical situation.
Let me say it again: ABBY’s vertical leaps can be deeply rewarding -- provided traders get off at the top. Be ready to jump!
If that’s something you might enjoy, here’s the chart again. And if not, have a great weekend and I’ll be back with some updates on recent winners.
See you soon!
