Hi,
Back in the day, when I was a wee lad my father worked for Harvard University. His office in Cambridge, Mass was in a building above an Au Bon Pain and beside the outdoor tables of the restaurant, along a heavily trafficked walkway, was a row of chess tables, the heavy cement chess tables you sometimes see in a park.
Nearly every time I’d visit my father I’d grab a chocolate croissant and an Orangina and watch the local Grandmaster tear his opponents apart… in seconds. The speed, the focus, the concentration and the calculation was inspiring… from that point on I was hooked on chess, which, many years later is still a passion of mine.
And I’m not alone.

That makes chess a very Big business.
