Cloud computing is one of the hottest high-tech plays going, so we’re lucky Thinspace Technology Inc. (THNS) is bringing it to ground level for us.
How often do we get a piece of a $165 BILLION growth story for the roughly $0.50 that THNS shares traded for yesterday?
But with cloud stocks outrunning the Dow by 3 to 1 over the last few years, the THNS chart should get you wondering how long we get this chance:
All the arrows converge around the point I highlighted above, so THNS might be delicately balanced at what is almost a 50% discount from its recent high.
Judging from the recent volatility, it might only take a nudge of news to get this stock leaping back into the technical sky -- more on that down below. Of course, we’ve seen that it can be very risky too so pay attention!
In any event, we’re a long way from the $0.25 to $0.30 THNS commanded a month ago, before the cloud buzz started up!
I’ve circled March 4, which is when THNS announced a key merger and unveiled its new cloud computing platform to a delighted world. (Read more)
The next day, cloud fever sent THNS volume from 5,000 to 500,000 shares in play as the price action soared all the way to $0.99.
In the wake of that heroic move, THNS has traded around in search of its “new normal” but neither price nor liquidity has ever looked back.
So where’s the ceiling? Until the moving averages catch up to the cloud story, THNS has yet to hit “resistance” below the $0.90s according to the stock chart above.
And that may only be the beginning. THNS sells software that lets corporate users share their screens for training or diagnostic purposes.
Traditionally the Fortune 500 has had to pay Citrix a fortune for this capability -- THNS does it just as well, but on the cheap! (Read more)
With the geeks themselves already choosing THNS, it’s no surprise top corporations like Toyota and Deutsche Bank are signing up now too.
As it is, THNS is already sold millions worth of services in the past couple of years undercutting its gigantic competitors and there’s almost endless room to grow.
Citrix became an $11 BILLION company helping IT take over screens. How much of that market does THNS need to thrive?
Right now it’s natural THNS still trades well under $1. But with the market cap pushing only $60 million, I don’t know how long that’s going to last!
Is it too hard to imagine a tech giant might reach down any time and grab THNS as part of the cloud M&A boom, in which case traders can just cash the check and move on?
Or perhaps THNS may just keep stealing clients, racking up revenue and theoretically even join the cloud world’s billion-dollar big boys some day?
Either way, that chart gives us plenty of space to have some fun in the here and now! Keep an eye on the THNS cloud’s “silver lining” and . . .
