Tao Minerals LTD (TAOND) is a gold exploration and minerals development company headquartered in Colombia.

Tao has acquired two mining properties - Golondrina and El Comillo in Colombia - Tao is poised to make important new discoveries in the under explored gold fields of Colombia.  In addition, the company has the Whale Mine property in Nevada, USA.                                                                                                                                                        

The El Comillo Mine concession is located in eastern Antioquia department, Colombia, north of capital Bogotá and has 296 hectares. El Comillo is the focus of Tao’s exploration efforts. It is a vein-hosted gold deposit located in a river basin that contains La Tinta Gorge in the sub river basin of the La Blanquita gorge, a tributary of the Nechí River in the municipality of Cáceres.

The La Muela vein is located about 600m west of the El Colmillo vein and it has a direction NS/80E to N10 ̊E/80 ̊ with a thickness that varies between 0.1m and 0.5m, widening to 1.2m. It is composed of milky quartz with interfingerings of host rock with Fe oxide and gouge in the fractures.

The Lama vein has been identified for a distance of about 5m, with a direction N20 ̊E. The vein, composed of quartz, has a thicknesses between 0.1 and 0.4m. Historically production ore grades (head grades) have varied between 10 and 50 g/t gold, with zones of enrichment of up to 250 g/t gold.

The two main veins - El Colmilla and La Muela - both have regional continuity and down-dip continuation of mineralization for 300m. Assuming an average grade of 10 g/t and normal disseminated wallrock mineralization, it is estimated that the total gold content is approximately 900,000 oz.

Current gross value of that ore is estimated to be US $990 million at a gold price of US $1,100 per ounce. No value has been placed on additional revenue that may arise from additional commodities contained in the ore. The gross value can be increased significantly by the probable existence of additional sub parallel veins, as well as by increased strike length of all mineralized structures both to the north and south of the known workings.
