More on EMPM
Make sure you have EMPM on your watch list, this company doubled in price just a few weeks ago and come down to a level where it's starting to increase in volume again. Could a second rally be setting up?!
Technology has changed so much in the last 100 years.
The future is 3D movies and TV with many movies now coming with a 3D version. EMPM is on the forefront of this revolution
Almost all of us at one point had a "vcr" and now they are obsolete. Now the standard dvd player could become obsolete as more people want blu-ray players.
Reality reproduced on the screen has become the norm for many of us as we want the best picture quality.
3D technology is what allows images to pop from the screen. Movies and television may never be the same because of it!
EMPM is looking ahead to the burgeoning marketplace for 3D content in the television and home entertainment arena. EMPM is focusing on three key areas in the television industry: post-production services; 2D to 3D conversion; and the creation, development, production and marketing of 3D television programming.
3D became a huge hit at the box office. 3D movies like Avatar actually helped save box office sales. In 2010, 3D made up 19.3% of the global box office, up from 8.6% in 2009. This was more than double!
The U.S was the largest single 3D market in 2010 with gross ticket sales of $2 billion!
The magic of 3D at the movie theater can be right in our homes. Imagine being able to watch your TV shows in 3D. This is what a lot of people have been waiting for!
Most of the major television set manufacturers, including Sony, Vizio, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, LG and Samsung have already introduced 3D-enabled sets. Sony's goal in fact is to have half of the sets it sells be 3D by the end of next year!
The general industry target is to have a 3D set in half of US households within a year or two.
Broadcasters are also increasingly launching 3D services. During the SuperBowl in February 2009, NBC aired a 3D commercial for PepsiCo's SoBe Lifewater and DreamWorks aired a 3D trailer for "Monsters vs. Aliens." The next day, NBC aired a 3D conversion of its "Chuck" series.
Sky TV in the UK premiered its 3D channel in April 2010. ESPN, Discovery and other networks have also launched 3D channels since.
EMPM is pushing ahead into the reality television world, developing programming that can be delivered and broadcast in both 2D and 3D. The company intends to move its 3D capability into other genres as market demand and financing permit.
"Journey Beyond," a 2D/3D reality television series for the international market, is currently being produced by Hybrid-Reality Entertainment, a wholly owned subsidiary of EMPM.
EMPM announced last month that they have delivered the 3D version of the pilot for the reality television series "Journey Beyond" to worldwide distributor The Fremantle Corporation.
The Fremantle Corporation is a global distributor of television and home video programming, with established licensee relationships in over 80 countries!
"Journey Beyond" is a one-hour series that explores a broad range of psychic and paranormal events, based on the real experiences of real people. The pilot was produced in 3D for delivery and broadcast in both 2D High Definition, and 3D.
EMPM CEO Peter Dunn said, "Initial reaction to 'Journey Beyond' from the marketplace suggests earlier demand for the 3D version than we expected. Pay TV and cable networks and international broadcasters appear to be moving more quickly toward launching 3D channels, so we accelerated the availability of the 3D version."
3D television is still a niche category and in its infancy with a lot of room to grow. There is a need for more 3D shows in order to sell 3D televisions.
According to Paul Gray, Director of TV Electronics Research at DisplaySearch. “People will only buy a 3D TV if there is enough content to watch, and in 2010, there simply was not enough 3D content available. As a result, only 4% of TVs 40” and larger had 3D capabilities.”
Companies like EMPM are focused on bringing the 3D content to the table!!
